The s Style is for steadiness

 Individuals with the DiSC S style personality typically prioritize collaborating with others within current circumstances to accomplish tasks.

 

The peacekeeper and the specialist

S styles find motivation in cooperation, opportunities to assist, and genuine recognition. They prioritize offering support, collaborating, and upholding stability, often characterized as composed, patient, reliable, intentional, stable, and steadfast.

  • Fears: Change, Loss of stability, Offending others, Letting people down
  • Values: Loyalty, Helping others, Security
  • Overuses: Modesty, Passive resistance, Compromise
  • Influences others by: Accommodation, Consistent performance
  • In conflict: Listens to others’ perspectives; Keeps their own needs to themselves
  • Areas for improvement: Displaying more self-confidence, Revealing their true feelings

Si styles are often characterized by their generosity, approachability, and compassion, exerting influence through empathy and patience.

  • Traits: Collaborative, Well-regarded, Team-oriented, Positive, Supportive, Conflict-averse, Overcommitted, Approachable, Generous, Compassionate
  • Goals: Acceptance, Close relationships
  • Fears: Being compelled to pressure others; Confronting aggression
  • Influences others by: Demonstrating empathy, Exercising patience
  • Overuses: Kindness, Establishing personal connections
  • In conflict: Demonstrates empathy, Skirts over problems
  • Areas for improvement: Asserting boundaries when necessary; Addressing issues directly
  • Leadership qualities: Si-style leaders are typically laid-back, patient, and supportive of their team and peers. They may struggle at times with addressing problems and acknowledging others' shortcomings.

 SC styles are typically characterized by their accommodating nature, patience, and reliability, exerting influence through diplomacy and self-restraint.

  • Traits: Stable, Consistent, Predictable, Accommodating, Patient, Inflexible, Self-controlled, Reliable, Thoughtful, Soft-spoken
  • Goals: Calm environment, Defined objectives, Steady progress
  • Fears: Time pressure, Uncertainty, Chaos
  • Influences others by: Diplomacy, Self-control, Consistency
  • Overuses: Willingness to defer to others; Humility
  • In conflict: Promotes a calm demeanor; Withdraws from conflict
  • Areas for improvement: Initiating change, Speaking up
  • Leadership qualities: SC-style leaders are often modest and equitable, delivering consistent results through steadfastness and reliability. However, they may also display rigidity, excessive caution, and reluctance to deviate from the status quo.

  When communicating with DiSC S-style individuals, adopt a personal and friendly approach, demonstrating genuine interest in them and clearly outlining your expectations. Maintain politeness, steer clear of confrontational tones, and allocate time to offer clarification as needed.
